There is a time for fast, convenient, cheap. There is a time for luxury, a splurge, an indulgence. Beer can be both of those choices, but the key is, whose choice is it?
The difference between mega-corp beer and world class craft beer is often only a dollar or two, so why do so many establishments serve the same beer? Same style, same parent company, same same.
If you’re the consumer the choices should be yours, however for decades big beer corporations have struck deals with business owners to offer the cheapest beer for their menu. They think that beer is a commodity, and the consumer won’t know the difference. It might be they chose the beer from the company that offered the best ‘perks’, or just counted on their customers to accept the usual. You can decide for yourself next time you go out, if the care put into the beer menu vs the rest of their offerings adds up and what that means about what they think of their customers.
We think – we know – consumers want choice, and the choice for a beer that is a dollar or two more for a significantly better product, is better for everyone.
There is a time and place for everything, but for individuals who want more than a mass-produced life, a corporate greed driven algorithm shaped outcome, speak up. Ask for better, better beer, better choices, better life.
