Experience the magic and charm of the winter season in Niagara Falls. Whether it’s your first visit or a cherished yearly tradition, the 42nd Annual Winter Festival of Lights is sure to captivate and enchant you.
Presented by Niagara Falls Tourism, the Winter Festival of Lights—fondly known as WFOL—is a must-see celebration and Canada’s largest free outdoor light festival.
Starting November 16th, Niagara Falls will be illuminated by millions of twinkling lights. The region will be transformed into a winter wonderland with colorful lights, interactive displays, and holiday themed hot chocolates.
It’s the perfect setting for a romantic date or a fun night out with family and friends. Visitors can enjoy the festive atmosphere while taking in the breathtaking views of the Falls, all while exploring festive lights placed throughout. It’s a fantastic way to get into the holiday spirit!
Take a stroll along the Niagara Parkway or a drive through Dufferin Islands and discover over 50 larger-than-life light displays, featuring Wildlife, the Fairy Tale Castle, Zimmerman Fountain, a Gingerbread Family and more!
One of this year’s must-see new attractions is the interactive musical bikes display, along with fan favorites like the 40-foot illuminated light tunnel, swings, and light-up see-saws.
Hot Chocolate Trail
Warm up and treat yourself with a ‘Nice’ (non-alcoholic) or ‘Naughty (with alcohol) hot chocolate. This self-guided trail will take you to delightful stops featuring over 35 chocolatey creations crafted by talented chocolatiers, chefs, and mixologists at some of Niagara Falls’ top restaurants and bakeries.
21 Nights of Fireworks
Enjoy dazzling fireworks displays that light up the sky, offering spectacular views of the illuminated Falls! The fireworks series kicks off on Saturday, November 16th, and continues every Friday and Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m. Nightly shows will also be held over the holidays, from December 27th through to the grand finale on Sunday, January 5th, 2025.
Santa Meet & Greet Sponsored by Ontario Power Generation
Santa is returning to the festival in December, ready to take photos and hear your Christmas wishes! Stop by and see him on select nights at the Niagara Parks Floral Showhouse. Families are provided free digital Santa photos on select weekends.
