Sit on the top floor of the Wellington County Public Library’s Erin branch, overlooking the Main Street and West Credit River. This newly restored library is the Town’s tallest building, a former grist mill, built in 1849 to harness the power of the flowing water below.

Fall down the rabbit hole at the Alice in Wonderland-themed Maddie Hatter tea shop, get in touch with your creative side at 4Cats art studio and browse delectable hand-made treats at Debora’s Chocolates.

Explore the serene grounds of the Hillsburgh library branch too, taking in the beauty of the swans who grace the millpond in spring.

There’s plenty to do outside of Erin Village and Hillsburgh as well, stroll the Elora-Cataract Trailway all season round, taking in the fall colours, snowshoeing in the winter, or enjoying the first buds of spring or lush greenery in the summer.

In the winter, Erin transforms into a haven for snowmobile enthusiasts looking for their gateway to Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) trails to the north. The local Hillsburgh Snow Roamers snowmobile club maintains 75 kilometers of groomed trails. Be sure to warm up at Judy’s Restaurant with a stick-your-ribs meal after a day on the sled.

Visit local farms; try freshly made maple syrup at Elliott Tree Farm in the spring or take in the breathtaking lavender fields at Erin Hill Acres in the summer.

There are always fun and lively events and concerts, and a chance to meet all the farm animals, including the Highland cows. Get a fully immersive agricultural experience at Everdale Farm, learning about growing food with a true respect and connection to the soil.

No matter the season, there’s something fun for everyone here.
